Tour 2009: day 5

I was awoken around six by howling winds;  hoping it’d die down I went back to sleep. At eight the wind is, if anything, worse now with lashing rain. This is bad news as I have to cross the Astoria-Megler Bridge today. So I lingered at Cape Disappointment:  I took a shower, leisurely made breakfast and packed up. Tour 2009: day 4

I was awoken in the night by the sound of light rain hitting my tent. It was still plenty early so I was able to sleep on. The sound of rain on the tent is one of life’s true joys though.
